World Animal Day: Celebrating Our Partnership with Support Dogs

This World Animal Day, we're celebrating a cause that's particularly close to our hearts.

Since 2023, Vamoosh has been a proud charity partner of Support Dogs, a national charity that trains specialist assistance dogs to help children and adults affected by autism, epilepsy and physical disability.

And this year, we've reached a very special milestone.

More Than £27,000 Raised

Together with our customers, team and wider Vamoosh community, we've now raised more than £27,000 for Support Dogs.

Our fundraising has been helping to support the training of a very familiar face: Mooshie.

Mooshie joined the Support Dogs family as a puppy and is now making her way through the training needed to potentially become a fully qualified support dog.

At just one year old, she's learning to remain calm, confident and focused in different environments, skills that will become incredibly important as she progresses through her training.

What Does Support Dogs Do?

Support Dogs trains specialist assistance dogs across three programmes:

  • Autism assistance
  • Disability assistance
  • Epilepsy seizure alert

These highly trained dogs can help their clients live more independently, become more socially active and receive vital day-to-day support.

In 2025 alone, Support Dogs provided more than 800,000 hours of support to individuals and families across the UK.

And the impact reaches much further.

Support Dogs reports that 100% of clients surveyed said their care needs had reduced, while 90% said they were getting out more for exercise and 86% had become more socially active.

More Than Fundraising

Our partnership with Support Dogs has always been about more than raising money.

Over the past three years, we've worked together to help raise awareness of the charity and the work its team does every day.

You'll find the Support Dogs logo on Vamoosh Pet Hair Dissolver packaging, we've collaborated on social and influencer activity, and the Support Dogs team has joined us at events.

Vamoosh products are even used to help clean the beds and towels of dogs during their training.

For us, it's a partnership that just makes sense.

After all, dogs have been part of the Vamoosh story from the very beginning.

Inspired by a Very Hairy Labrador

Vamoosh exists thanks, in part, to a black Labrador called Mr Chips.

Our co-founder Tom Abbey was looking for a solution to the huge amount of pet hair Mr Chips left behind on his bedding and blankets.

That problem eventually inspired the development of Vamoosh Pet Hair Dissolver and started the Vamoosh journey.

Ten years later, we're incredibly proud that another Labrador has become such an important part of our story.

Giving Dogs a Second Chance

One of the things we particularly love about Support Dogs is its commitment to giving the right dogs an opportunity to thrive.

Around one in four of its dogs in training comes from a rescue centre, council pound or is a pet that can no longer remain with its previous owner.

Dogs with the right potential can be given a second chance and begin a completely new journey as an assistance dog.

What's Next for Mooshie?

Mooshie still has more training ahead of her, and we'll be following every step.

If she successfully completes her training, she'll eventually be matched with an individual or family and begin the role she's been working towards.

For now, we're incredibly proud of how far she's come, and of everyone who has helped us raise more than £27,000 for Support Dogs.

So, this World Animal Day, we're celebrating Mooshie, the incredible dogs already supporting people across the UK and the dedicated team helping to train the next generation.
