My first month in marketing at Vamoosh

Wow! I cannot believe I have been a team member of Vamoosh for a month, and what a crazy month it has been. Talk about getting stuck in and wasting no time…

I had just graduated Aston University and was pulling pints in the Sheffield pub I worked at. On my dinner break I decided to browse the LinkedIn applications page and stumbled across Cares Laboratory and WOW AM I GLAD I DID!

From day one I knew it felt right, even from the initial interview. It was clear that the company ethos and values aligned with mine. As I have two dogs myself, I appreciated the products and their technology from a consumer perspective. Although I was very nervous, I came out of my interviews smiling and feeling excited and that hasn’t changed. When I leave our Barnsley warehouse/office I feel excited for things I will learn and experience in the near future with Vamoosh.

The Clean and Tidy Show

Three of team Vamoosh (including me) visited the Excel Centre in London for The Clean and Tidy show 2 weeks ago. As a newbie to the cleaning industry and with it being 2 weeks into my Vamoosh Junior Brand Manger role, I had no idea what to expect or just how crazy it was going to be. The experience was unforgettable and I’m still not over it. Meeting so many wonderful individuals and getting to chat to everyone about their passions and lifestyle was a great experience.

I also met Stacey Solomon who I used to vote for using my pocket money as a child when she was on the X Factor and again on I'm A Celebrity! I completely froze and couldn't speak, even though I had thought about what I was going to say to her. Meeting Mrs Hinch and Lynsey Queen of Clean was also very surreal.

 The Vamoosh Team

Emphasis on the word team. I didn’t expect to have as much freedom and such an input so fast within the company. Everyone values my opinion, and my boss genuinely wants to hear it. I was somewhat surprised at this at first as I expected a natural hierarchical environment based on previous experience. I have been given full responsibility of our Social Media straight away, going off my outlook and opinions.

My favourite thing about working at Vamoosh is the amazing team, as it’s a small business the office is a very nice environment to be in. People of all ages chatting throughout the day about everything and anything. Lots of giggles and chocolate and everyone makes a cracking cuppa! I already feel as though I have learnt a lot from everybody and its only been a month, I'm looking forward to my Vamoosh journey and continuing to grow within myself and the company.
